Application
This project will take us 5 classes. I will
check your work each day for completion and mark the whole package at the end
of the process. Each day every student will create a pitch in advance of class
and be prepared to read that pitch aloud in class. We will then debrief and
discuss each idea.
The
Pitch: The story ideas should be written out in no
longer than four sentences in length, and should demonstrate both the hook and
the developmental potential of the idea. The pitch should give the reader some
idea of tone, character, genre and premise.
Example: A new branch of science has been created to allow humans to control
and merge their DNA with each other and create offspring with desirable,
controllable traits. The procedure is very expensive but gives these new
children a major chance at success in life. A black market has allowed those
without financial means to have the procedure, but at a cost that may be more
than money. And the black market procedure is somewhat less safe and
predictable…
Each day you will be provided with a
starting point of a different variety.
